hi solomon

To the author of a blog … I Read your blog rather recently. That it would be desirable to note … (do not think that with what that I reproach or I try to give advice) laconic enough design, anything superfluous I would tell))) your subjects are close to me, and it pleases. But why do not write the opinion on the events occurring in the world, in respect of events international for example?? I understand, that “news suffice”, but sometimes it would be desirable to learn opinion of the usual person, so to say - an independent sight, to compare it to the opinion. And so … Write even more often, even more, and even more interestingly. Thanks!

Dear Stewart

It was a pleasure meeting you in Barbados last week.
Thanks to CARICAD I am already registered. I just decided to take a look at CCEG, which is very well developed. I particularly liked the clear instructions for members to upload content.

I look forward to cooperating with you as we consolidate the UN electronic and mobile Government Knowledge Repository (emGKR) in the Region.
Best regards
Jonas

I hold the position of Director, Office of Public Sector Reform - Ministry of Labour and (Civil Service) - Barbados
I congratulate CARICAD on developing this initiative and hope that it will serve to encourage interaction amongst members. The public sector reform process needs the ICT impetus to expedite services relevant to the development of our various stakeholders - especially the private sector. Although this is a primary focus we must always be aware that we need to balance organisational reform with attitudinal reform. It is the lack of development of the latter which leads to our failings in a number of areas which were set up with good intentions - and may I add initially 'good' systems. A number of worthwhile initiatives have been buried in the 'reform graveyard' because not enough cooperative effort has been made.
All the best!

Mike Archer

Hi all

I am Stewart Marshall, Director of the Distance Education Centre at The University of the West Indies. I am based in Barbados, but spend a lot of time travelling around the other 15 countries in which we have DE Centres. For many years now my research interests have been in the use of ICT to help in community development and sustainability. E-governance and community engagement are important components of this.

I am looking forward to interacting with everyone in this virtual community.

Regards, Stewart
